Colors Changing Hue

Top 8 Reasons Why I'm Excited for the Fall:

1) The wonderful feeling you get when the season changes. I just love fall. I love it. I love the smell of the air, the crisp leaves under your feet, the colors of those left on the trees...it fills me up with energy and I can't control it and I just happy-shift all over the place. Seriously, I've had some of my best shifts in the fall - the best by far occuring when I was running cross country and I started shifting because I was running in the woods. :)

2) Marching band! I actually love football now because of it. Hell, I never know what's going on, but it's enjoyable because I get to play tuba at half-time, and now the band has after-game parties at my friend Tom's house. Last night was our first game (we won 45-20!), and we all headed over to his house to play a mad round of DDR and to eat hot dogs. X3

3) The clothes. I love being able to wear t-shirts with sweaters and jeans and sneakers. It's not so hot that you're burning up, but it's not so cold that you're freezing. It's the perfect combo of warm-cool.

4) All the new TV shows! I'm especially looking forward to Flash Forward, Modern Families, and this new doctor show on NBC. I'm also excited for the final season of LOST, and the next chapters in HOUSE, Heroes, and Ugly Betty. Hopefully Daniel hooks up with Mark finally. XD

I KID I KID.

5) Food tastes much better in fall, for some reason. <3

6) Books! I don't know why, but I read so many more books in the fall than any other time of year. I'm looking forward for the next Shugo Chara!  and Lucky Star! volumes. I also might start buying Fruits Basket, since it's over and all the volumes are out. *proceeds to shovel money outside her window*

I'm also exposing myself to this vampire series called House of Night. It's slowly becoming the new Twilight with kids at my school. Even my classmate Jeremy is reading it. XD I actually don't mind it - the style of writing kind of irritates me, as do some of the characters and certain aspects of the plot, but hell, it beats Sir Sparkle Pants and his cronies of marble stone men who apparently can still inseminate despite the lack of blood flow and the fact that they're undead. ((That was a reference to Breaking Dawn.))
It actually makes several references to Cherokee legends and such, and the main character actually makes me smile sometimes, so that's a plus.

7) I also draw and write more. I feel really, really inspired to work on my fanfiction, which has been stewing quietly in my brain and has now finally started simmering and hissing and screaming "EAT-ER, WRITE ME!!!"

8) ...I might have found someone who I actually think might be interested in me, and me in him. ////

I've been overloading my systems on Lucky Star!. I freaking adore Konata, and her cousins. Kagami is another favorite simply because she puts up with Konata's otaku-ness on a daily basis. XDD

Dance, dance + WoW Pandemonium + Random Sh*t

Fooling around with the Piece of Flair application on Facebook is too much fun, I swear. 83

At any rate, I neglected to mention that for the first time in my life, I was asked out to a dance at the local all-boy's school by my good friend Alec. And despite one or two things, I actually had the best time at a dance ever. ^^

So, first we went out to dinner at the local Elephant Bar, which I've never been to but always wanted to go there. I was kind of nervous because
a) it was just me and my date and
b) I was scared to death of running out of things to talk about and thus creating numerous awkward silences...
but surprisingly, neither happened. Our conversation actually took a rather political turn, and aside from him totally being against homosexual rights and not really caring about the aerial wolf shootings and bashing Obama for wanting to use peaceful negotiations with our enemies instead of fighting (which may be difficult to achieve but is something we should strive for nonetheless) I actually enjoyed talking about it with him.

Did I mention the food was delicious? OMG the cloudypard in me was DYING of happy because I order the Misoyaki Salmon, which literally melted in my mouth (and thus did not require actual chewing, which made my brace-sore teeth happy) and tasted soooo good.

...Alec leaves enormously large tips and forgets to take his change.

So after dinner, because we met up at the restaurant (many of my friends were appalled that he didn't pick me up at my house, but I honestly don't care) we had to stop at his house for pictures. So, we get to his house, and I notice that there are numerous cars lined up along the street in front of it. The following conversation ensues:

ME: Oh wow, lots of cars are here.
HIM: Oh, it's my mom's 50th birthday, so my whole extended family is here.
ME: 8||

So we go inside, and EVERYONE in the family turns to look at us. EVERY ONE.
And then they all start clapping and cheering. Because I was his date.

Did I mention that that has NEVER EVER happened to me? And that I HATE being pointed out in a crowd?

So everyone in his family and their mother wanted to meet me and take out picture. His whole family is really nice, but I think they got the wrong idea that we're going steady...which is kind of what I was afraid they would assume. ^^;
His aunt, uncle, and grandfather really liked me I guess, because they kept complimenting how pretty I was and how Alec said "I would be the prettiest girl at the dance". And then his aunt introduced me to all her wine-buddies, who proceeded to gawk at me and clam I had such a nice figure.
And then walking back to his house (we were in the backyard, which didn't really have a pathway), I almost tripped because my heels gave out, but I bounced back up.

So basically, this entire scenario can be summarized as thus:
THEM: YOU'RE SO PRETTY!
ME: I AM SO SO UNCOMFORTABLE. 8||

*cough* Anyways! We finally got to the actual dance, which was pretty awesome - the theme was "Gotham City" because of The Dark Knight, and they even had a replica of the motorcycle Batman has in that movie. The whole theme was pretty cool, because the entrance to the school was decorated like the Batcave, which lead me to singing the 70s TV theme song. X3
A lot of my friends from CCHS were there, and I saw a lot of my old classmates from grade school (all but two guys went to St. Francis De Sales, the local all-boys school, while the girls who went to the two local all-girls schools, St. Ursula and Notre Dame, were invited by boys who went to De Sales), so I had a great time catching up with them.

I think the boys didn't recognize me because I lost weight and I was wearing make-up. :\

Being forced to grind is something I do not like. X|

But all in all, it was a great time. I asked him to my homecoming dance (because it seemed only fair to do so), but he told me he didn't know if his family was going to Cedar Point or not that day.

But I had a good time. I'll post a link to my facebook once I upload all the pictures. :3

In other news, the latest patch update for World of Warcraft is going to bring me much grief; they're removing the all-time best raid attunement, which involves exposing one of the leaders of the humans in the WoW world as an evil dragon who's been manipulating the boy king. It's confusing, but OMG I am so mad because I was half-way through the attunement to enter the raid - I only had three or four quests left to do - and they're getting rid of it. 8C

(For those who don't know: certain bosses in WoW require a specific key to gain entrance to their dungeon. For Onyxia, the dragon, you had to go through an elaborate chain of events and quests that reveal that Onyxia has been disguised as a human and has been manipulating the boy-king of the human race in this world to her own will. The best part of the attunement is that you walk up to her and expose her, and she turns into a dragon RIGHT IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOMMY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CASTLE.)

I'm especially frustrated because I was so close, and I don't have the time within two days to get it done. GRAAGH BLIZZARD STOP BEING STUPID AND LET ME DO SOMETHING FOR ONCE. D8<
On the bright side, I'll be able to actually enter the dungeon without the required key, since it'll no longer exist, but I digress.

Fall weather is making me feel really shifty and excited for swim season and the like. But I am oh so out of shape for swimming...to the YMCA!

The leaves and the crisp, cool air really make me feel ansty when I'm cooped up inside school all day...which is bad because math is my final period and I can't concentrate when cloudypard is wagging her tail and going, "OMG LET'S GO OUTSIDE NOW NOW PLZ". 8D

*stretch* Yup. Life is good.

And now to take a bath. ^^

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, it's been ages since I've posted anything, well, HAPPY. 8O With the poor, sick ferret, poor Steve Irwin (followed promplty after by my angry letter to the bitches of the internet), and the oh-so-shocking referee death, my journal has gone somewhat emo.

We need to fix that. Now. So, here's some happy high school rants! ^0^

When I mean rants, I mean RANTS )
